MULTI PURPOSE - The same service station that provides freshly charged hydrogen batteries, doubles up as an energy store for the national grid of the country concerned. Why put in load levelling stations that only have one function? We hope this is a topic of discussion at the forthcoming UN COP 26 in Glasgow, Scotland in November 2021.

 

 

 

WHAT IS TURQUOISE HYDROGEN ?

 

Turquoise hydrogen is hydrogen gas that is produced is produced by breaking methane down into hydrogen and solid carbon using a process called pyrolysis.

 

Turquoise hydrogen might seem relatively low in terms of carbon emissions because the carbon can either be buried or used for industrial processes such as steel making or battery manufacturing, so it doesn’t escape into the atmosphere.

However, recent research shows turquoise hydrogen is actually likely to be no more carbon-free than the blue variety, owing to emissions from the natural-gas supplies and process heat required - in other words converting a fossil fuel into a more useful energy carrier.

 

It is not climate friendly, or an efficient use of resources when it comes to cooling planet earth, compared to Green hydrogen.
